Week 7 - Colts v. Vikings
Stratton Faxon Mighty Mite Colts 24 v Vikings 6
The Stratton Faxon Mighty Mite Colts completed a terrific regular season with a 24-6 victory over a solid Vikings team, to finish the regular season in third place with an impressive 5-1-1 record. The Colts scored early and often in the first half. John Lagoy scored twice on power runs off right tackle behind excellent blocking by Spencer Witter, Jadon Jiminez and Aidan "Raging Bull" Stabnick. Lagoy picked up his third touchdown of the day with an interception return for a touchdown. The Colts aerial attack once again struck paydirt, this time on a pretty 15 yd pass from Michael Mathews to Declan Flaherty.
In the second half, the Colts debuted their "pony express" offense. Led by QB Dean Edwards, the pony express delivered yardage via a variety of tough runners. Aidan Stabnick, Matt "Mad Dog" Shea, Thomas Sullivan, Olivia Moran, Robert Simmons, Jadon Stabnick and Jack Lazor all advanced the ball for the Colts with tough runs. Moran also had her first reception of the year, a nice 8 yard grab from her regular left end position.
Defensively, Aidan Stabnick lead a stingy Colts defense with two fumble recoveries. Noah Young successfully defended 3 pass plays, including one via a pretty leaping interception. Declan Flaherty was flying all over the field making tackles. The Jacks, Jack Moore and Jack Lazor, pestered the Vikings backfield all day with solid inside penetration. Michael Mathews and Spencer Witter contained the perimeter with outstanding defensive end play. Peter Brown made several bruising tackles to help shut down a tricky Vikings offense.
