Week 2 - Colts v. Patriots
Mighty Mites Stratton Faxon Colts 29 Patriots 12
The Stratton Faxon Mighty Mite Colts won their second game of the season in impressive fashion. Solid blocking by the offensive line of Spencer Witter, Peter Brown, Aidan Stabnick, Dean Edwards, Jadon Jiminez, Jack Lazor and Olivia Moran controlled the line of scrimmage and opened huge holes all day. John Lagoy scored twice for the Colts in the first half, the first a power run off tackle and the second a speedy reverse play. Quarterback Michael Mathews converted both extra point plays by completing passes to Spencer Witter to give the Colts a 16-0 half time lead. In the second half, Lagoy continued his impressive performance with yet another power run for paydirt. Declan Flaherty completed the Colt scoring on a nice quarterback bootleg around left end, with Spencer Witter pounding it up the middle for the extra point. Lagoy's solid's running was aided throughout the game by excellent lead blocking from Colts toughguy Jack Moore.
Defensively, the Colts were dominant. Aidan Stabnick and Peter Brown were in the Patriots backfield all day. Witter and Mathews were solid at the defensive ends, containing the Patriots ground attack. Thomas Sullivan and Dean Edwards made several nice tackles. Matt Shea recovered a fumble for the Colts, and Alec Grosk, Noah Young and Robert Simmons all contributed to a solid team effort.
